Ben Carr is a recorder player, flautist and drummer. He studied Music at the University of Bristol, where he performed in the University Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra and Baroque Ensemble. He also performed with the Renaissance ensemble Rosafresca, formed an Irish Folk band, and regularly drummed in his church. For several years he also drummed for a big band at his school, where he has a Music Scholarship.

Ben is currently studying for an MMus in Historical Performance on recorders at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. His post-graduate studies are generously supported by the Michael James Musical Trust, a Derek Butler award from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust, and a scholarship award from the Guildhall School.

Ben loves teaching the flute, recorders and drum kit to young people of all ages. He also regularly works on the Social Staff for the National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain. When not performing, listening and writing about music, Ben loves to train for 10ks and half marathons.
