Sam started singing at the age of eleven when he became a chorister at Lincoln Cathedral, laying the groundwork for Sam’s training as a musician. Following this Sam went on to study at Oundle School, focussing on piano and voice. Sam currently balances his work as a Lay Clerk at Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford with the private teaching and singing regularly in other ensembles including The Sixteen, The Erebus Ensemble and Siglo de Oro. Sam is also frequently booked as a soloist.

Sam is a young professional singer based in Oxford and London, who currently sings for the choir at Christ Church Cathedral Oxford, providing music for the eight regular services each week. Sam’s teaching experience started working at Truro School just after leaving school. Here he was primarily involved in accompanying pupils’ exams and recitals but he also taught theory and gave additional coaching in piano and singing where required. Since leaving Truro Sam has graduated with a degree in Music from Manchester University, sung as a Lay Clerk at Manchester and Ely Cathedrals, taught private lessons, accompanied and conducted various ensembles and helped out as an assistant on outreach and education programmes developed by various vocal ensembles.

In his spare time, Sam enjoys good food and wine, going on long walks and watching rugby.
